Executive summary
Peter advises clients on a wide range of matters, including the establishment and capitalization of private investment vehicles (including venture capital funds, mortgage funds, real estate funds, and tax-structured funds), venture capital and private equity financings, business acquisitions and divestitures, corporate reorganizations, and corporate governance.
Peter has extensive experience working with complex corporate, limited partnership and trust structures and is known for his ability to navigate complicated legal issues with practical, business-focused insight. His background, including undergraduate and graduate degrees in corporate finance and more than eight years of experience in the financial services industry, gives him a strong understanding of the commercial realities facing his clients.
A senior member of the firm’s Securities and Corporate Finance Group and Business and Corporate Commercial Group, Peter is actively involved in the firm’s private equity and venture capital initiatives. He regularly acts for and with prominent Canadian venture capital and private equity funds, mortgage funds, real estate funds, and other institutional investors and lenders. Earlier in his career, Peter was regularly involved in securities compliance and regulatory matters for the firm’s public company clients.
